Mata Jitu Waterfall

The only way to get to Moyo Island is by going to Sumbawa first. You can reach Sumbawa with a boat from Lombok, or by flying to the capital of the island: Sumbawa Besar. The harbor to go to Moyo Island is in Sumbawa Besar. The boat departs every morning from the harbor in Sumbawa Besar. There is no fixed schedule, or any place to buy tickets, so you just have to go there, and hope for the best.

This is the location of the harbor in Sumbawa Besar. Once you are at Moyo Island, you can walk straight to the waterfall. If you don’t want to walk, you have to ask a local to bring you there with a scooter, which they will do for payment. I would recommend walking, because the path to the waterfall goes through forest/jungle, and that way you see something of the island.

Walk to the waterfall, and chill at the layered pools. You can also go swimming, which I would recommend in the Indonesian heat. This waterfall is also known as “Princess Diana's Waterfall”, because she visited this area once in the ‘90s.

If you are walking, I would wear shoes that can go underwater. Keep in mind that at the very end, near the waterfall, you have to walk a part through the water. Apart from that bring your swimming gear, and enough water and sunscreen.
