About
I’m Jeroen, and I write the travel guides I couldn’t find when I was planning my own trips.
Who I am
I’m a software developer from the Netherlands. I travel to places where good, up-to-date information in English is hard to find. Before my first trip to China, I spent hours piecing together bus times, ticket prices and payment tips from old forum posts and half-translated websites. This blog is my attempt to save you that time.
Where I’ve been
Every guide on this site comes from my own trip through South East Asia, China and Central Asia in 2025 and 2026.
Prices and opening times change, especially in China and Central Asia. Each guide shows when it was last checked.
How I write these guides
I only write about what you need: how to get there, what it costs, how long it takes and what to bring. No life stories. No affiliate links. I don’t earn money from any link on this site, so I only link to something because it’s useful. Own experiences, own photos. I’ve been to every place I write about, and every photo is my own. No AI-written content.
