Yuanyang

Yuanyang is known for it's layered rice terraces in the mountains, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Cultural Landscape.

You can travel here from Kunming. From either Kunming Railway Station, or Kunmingnan Railway Station, you will have to get a train to Jianshui. In Jianshui you will have to go to the Jianshui Bus Terminal, and buy tickets for a bus to Xinjie Bus Terminal.

Once you are in Xinjie, you can use the shared taxis to get to your accommodation. The taxi drivers will be around you the moment you exit the bus. You should pay around 20 yuan per person to bring you to your accommodation. It’s a shared taxi, so the taxi will leave when it’s full.

This is also the easiest way to get around the area. When you are walking on the streets in the scenic area, the shared taxis will also be driving around. When they see you they will honk or slow down, and if you want you can ask them to bring you to your destination. You can also order private taxis from your accommodation. Didi is not available in this area.
